Panicked Rabri expands team
Laloo Prasad Yadav went into overdrive on Thursday as political developments in Bihar justified Mahajan's stark statement from Bhubaneswar saying "the countdown for Rabri's fall had begun'' as the Rashtriya Janata Dal remained stubborn on defeating the Bihar Reorganisation Bill. In a pre-emptive move, Laloo announced the induction of nine more ministers into the jumbo Cabinet of Rabri Devi government soon after JMM(S) formally announced withdrawal of support.

No turning point in TN politics, asserts Jaya
AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalitha has disputed the statement made by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee that Tuesday's MDMK rally marked a turning point in the politics of the State and said that there was no open manifestation of a deal between the DMK and the BJP.

Appointment of four working presidents to MPCC cleared
Congress president Sonia Gandhi is understood to have cleared the appointment of four working presidents to the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, an unprecedented move aimed at placating the dominant groups in the faction-ridden State party unit. The four who are believed to have been chosen are: Congress spokesperson Ajit Jogi representing 10, Janpath, former MPCC chief Parasram Bharadwaj on behalf of S C Shukla and V C Shukla, state minister Rajmani Patel of the Arjun Singh camp and former state minister Balendu Shukla of the Madhavrao Scindia group.
