MUMBAI, SEPT 18: South Korean automobile giant Hyundai will make a world-wide launch of its small car "Santro" on September 23 here through a unique "charity auction" to create a fund for technical education.The first five top of the line Santro DX cars, rolled out of its assembly lines, will be auctioned at a function in the capital and proceeds would be handed over to the Army, Navy and Airforce Wives Associations, a Hyundai release said today.
The auction proceeds will help to constitute a technical education fund to assist deserving dependent children of those defence personnel martyred in the war.
The auction will follow the public unveiling of the car at a celebratory event to be presided over by the Industry Minister Sikander Bakht and a host of dignitaries and celebrities, the release said.
Hyundai Motor India is a 100 per cent subsidiary of the 13.5 billion Hyundai Motor Company set up in 1967 as part of the Hyundai business group. HMC has presence in 168 countries across theworld.
