Super Bazar converts to paper bags

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, September 18: The Super Bazar has decided to shun plastic and go eco-friendly. Buyers will now carry home groceries and other wares from the outlets in paper bags instead of plastic ones.

Super Bazar's outlet at Connaught Place will be the first to dump its plastic and introduce paper bags. The other units are to follow suit. In a press release, the co-operative shop chain has stated that plastic bags were one of the major elements polluting the environment and its use is being discouraged as the first step towards a clean environment. Surinder Gandhi, its vice chairman, has appealed to all suppliers of Super Bazar to encourage the use of paper bags and other materials which are non-polluting and can be recycled.
