AFBBS cagers win
Air Force Bal Bharati School beat DPS (Mathura Road) 12-11 in the girls basketball zonal championship. Priyanka Bhalla was the top scorer for the winners. In the junior girls section, AFBBS defeated Summer Field 8-0, Rashmi being the top scorer.

Delhi chess
The Delhi Chess Association will organise state championship (u-12 and 14) for boys and girls from Saturday at 4 pm at St Joan's Convent School, Lodhi complex. Entries close with Principal Swapna Mishra (Ph: 4610133, 4610155).

Hans Raj triumph
Hans Raj Model School (Punjabi Bagh) won the All India Mahatma Hans Raj Aryan basketball tournament (Delhi zone) in senior boys section, beating Suraj Bhan DAV Public School (Vasant Vihar) 38-24. In the girls section, DAV (Pitampura) defeated Hans Raj Model School 28-22. In football, Hans Raj beat DAV School (Rohini) 2-1 to enter the final.

Hans Raj school also entered the semifinal of Mahatma Hans raj Aryan cricket tournament beating DL DAV Shalimar Bagh by 64 runs.

Zonal basketball
Mira Model Sr Sec School beat Tagore School (Mayapuri) 15-8 in the senior boys final of zonal basketball tournament. Amit Anand scored 10 points for the winners.

In senior girls section, SM Jain Public School defeated Mira Model 16-10 while in junior boys, Guru Amar Das School dwoned Mira Model 14-9. New Era won the junior girls final beating SM Jain School 18-10.

Cricket tourney
East Delhi Cricket Academy will organise a tournament in memory of Meva Ram Garg from September 20 at Yamuna Sports Complex. Participating teams include Sonnet, Subhania, R R Gymkhana, N Railway, D S Group, Winsom, DVB, Salwan Boys, Collage Group, TYCA, Madras Club and J N Golden.

DBA teams
The Delhi state teams for the North Zone inter-state badminton championship (Jaipur, Oct 3-5) have been named by the Delhi Badminton Association. Delhi are the winners in men, women and junior boys sections.
