Pakistani kills nephew for backing India

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
ISLAMABAD, Sept 21: A Pakistani shot his nephew dead for supporting India as they watched the Sahara Cup cricket match between the two rival nations on television, it was reported today.

The incident occurred in Rawalpindi last night when the match at Toronto was shown live on the state-run television in Pakistan, the News Daily

said.

According to a complaint lodged with the police, a man, identified only as Arbab, was "infuriated" when his nephew started supporting the Indian cricketers, the newspaper said.

Arbab pulled out a pistol and fired at his 32-year-old relative who was critically injured and died in hospital, the report said.

Pakistan defeated India by four wickets in the final tie and won the Sahara Cup series 4-1.
