Batch of 275 SIs and ASIs joins city police

NEW DELHI, September 21: The passing-out parade of the 21st batch of probational sub-inspectors (SI) and assistant sub-inspectors (ASI) of police was held today at the Police Training Centre, Jharoda Kalan. It was witnessed by the Delhi Lt. Governor, Vijai Kapoor besides many senior police officials.The batch comprises of 225 SIs and 48 Women ASIs and is one of the largest batches of SIs and ASIs to be ever inducted in to the Delhi Police. It also carries the distinction of being comprised of over 150 members with post graduate degrees. The personnel have undergone intensive training in indoor and outdoor weapon tactics, commando drills, law, forensic medicine and science, investigation skills and human behaviour. The additional commissioner for police (Training), Kiran Bedi, said ``the cadets have been trained to serve and I hope that they will be an asset to the Delhi Polce''.
