EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

VIJAYWADA, SEPT 22: With the family of P Ramakrishna, slain chief of Siti Cable, naming his arch rival in the organisation as the prime accused, the city police have launched a massive search operation.

Special teams have been sent to Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Ongole, Jaggaiahpet and other places to nab the prime accused, a top executive in Siti Cable at Visakhapatnam.

Since there were no eyewitnesses to the murder on Sunday night, the police have based their first information report (FIR) on a written complaint lodged by Ramakrishna's brother, according to City Police Commissioner KSN Moorthy.

The bullets recovered from the scene of offence have been sent to the forensic department to analyse the type of weapon used by assailants. However, it is believed that the revolver used might be of .9mm type, which is generally carried by those in service. The fingerprints copied from the car driven by Ramakrishna have also been sent to forensic experts.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is currently on a visit to the United States, telephoned the city police commissioner and sought details about the murder.
