VIT struggle past BMCC

PUNE, Sept 22: Goals came the hard way in the Vishwakarma Institute of Technology-Brihans Maharashtra College of Commerce encounterand finally was decided 4-3 via tie-breaker in the IME Invitational Inter-Collegiate football tourney at the ILS Law College here today.

With the tie failing to produce goals in regulation time the match went into the tie-breaker. VIT found the net four times via Jerry, Sameer, Adrian and Mayuresh M, while Joel failed in his attempt. In reply, BMCC had Tushar Pai and Avinash squander their chances and manged three goals via Amit Wanzari, Chetan Pimpale and Avinash.

In other matches, IMERTriding on the strikes of Aniket Apte (7th minute) and Manik Taneja (22nd) scored a 2-0 win over Poona Institute of Computer Technology (PICT). College of Engineering Pune (COEP) had Jaideep Pawar and Satish Suttatti score in their win over Institute of Business Management and Research (IBMR).

SCMHRD found a match-hero in Rohit as he knocked in all five goals for his team in the 5-0 win over Bharati Vidyapeeth.
