SYDNEY: Australian cricket coach Bob Simpson says Pakistan should be free to select who they liked until allegations of match-fixing were proved.Simpson, Australian coach for 10 years, held the reins in 1994 when Mark Waugh, Shane Warne and Tim May made accusations that former Pakistan captain Malik offered them a bribe to ``throw'' a match.
Simpson said he had ``suspicions'' about Pakistan players at the time, but ``no-one had put their finger on it'' until the trio made the allegations public.
Although Mark Waugh and captain Mark Taylor have been called to appear before the judicial inquiry, Simpson said the investigation would not disrupt the Australian team with the first Test starting on Thursday.
