VADODARA, Sept 29: A fifty-year-old proof-reader, Kiritbhai Bhatt, employed since 1974 with Loksatta, a Gujarati daily of The Indian Express Group, in Vadodara, was found murdered outside a provision shop near Anand Railway Station on Monday morning, the Anand police said.According to the Anand police, though Bhatt was murdered on the railway platform, his body, which bore several marks of injury, was disposed near the provision store in order to misguide the police.
The basis for the assumption was a sniffer dog, which traced the spot of incident to platform number three, after which it lost the track, the police said. Some blood stains were also found near the platform, which the culprits had tried to cover it with soil, the police added.
According to the police, though they have no clue about the culprits, Bhatt's personal rivalry with his relatives is suspected to be the reason behind murder.
His colleagues said, Bhatt had left the office at 2 am on September 28, but did not know whether he boarded a train or a bus.
