Bihar minister leads revolt over Vananchal
The banner of revolt has been raised in the ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal in Bihar by state finance minister Aklu Ram Mahato, over Vananchal. He has called a meeting of pro-Vananchal leaders, including MPs and legislators at Bokaro on October 2, to demonstrate a show of unity.

India-France for better bilateral ties
India and France yesterday agreed to give a boost to bilateral ties and continue strategic dialogue on defence cooperation when Prime Minister A B Vajpayee met French President Jacques Chirac and Prime Minister Lionel Jospin soon after his arrival here on a two-day official trip.
