HR Commerce beat Shahani in extra time

MUMBAI, SEPT 30: HR Commerce shrugged off a slow start to down Shahani Engineering 58-56 in extra time to advance into the quarter-finals of the inter-college basketball tournament held at Indian Gymkhana today. The teams were tied 50-50 in regulation time.

In another close match, Fr Rodrigues prevailed by the skin of the teeth, defeating last year's semi-finalist St Andrew's 47-46. Later, it was NM Commerce's turn to pull the rabbit out of the hat. Trailing 19-21 at half-time, NM knocked out last year's runner-up Elphinstone 40-37.

Badminton selection trials: Selection trials for the Mumbai University team for the inter-university tournament, to be held at Pune from October 10, will be held at University Sports Pavilion at 9 a.m. on October 5.
