Anti-addiction rally tomorrow

GANDHINAGAR, Sept 30: A huge anti-addiction rally will be taken out in Ahmedabad on October 2. The rally will end in Sardar Patel Stadium where a public meeting will be held. It will be addressed, among others, by Governor Anshuman Singh.

Prominent film personalities like Mahesh Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt and also Mallika Sarabhai will participate in the rally organised jointly by the State Health and Education departments, the Gujarat Cancer Society and various voluntary organisations. Health Minister Ashok Bhatt told reporters here on Wednesday that `mini rallies' would be taken out from five different places in the city -- Manilal Mansion, Asarwa Vishwa Vidyalaya, Diwan Ballubhai schools at Kankaria and Paldi and RTO Compounds.

Bhatt said the government had also decided to celebrate a week-long `Maa Raksha Mahotsav' (safe motherhood festival) beginning on Thursday.
