Clinton puts off Asia visit
US president Bill Clinton has scrubbed plans to visit the Indian sub-continent this year. White House officials virtually confirmed the cancellation of the Presidential visit amid indications that the Clinton administration was not satisfied with progress made by India and Pakistan to rein in the nuclear arms race.
