CHITRADURGA, OCT 1: Crime Criminal Information System (CCIS) would be introduced at all police stations in Karnataka, Minister of State for Home R Roshan Baig has said.The state government had already sanctioned Rs 2.5 crore for CCIS, he told reporters here yesterday.
The system, presently available in Bangalore, would be later introduced in all the 768 police stations he said.
He said the government had decided to strengthen the force and acquire modern equipment to tackle the Naxalites, who, he said were active in some areas. However, they did not pose a major problem, he said.
Baig also said that Coastal Security Force (CSF) will be established to supervise about 300 kms between Karwar and Mangalore, with headquarters at Bhatkal.
Police Safety Commission would be set up by November 1 and it would submit a report on accident-prone pockets and prevention of road accidents on state and national highways, Baig said. By introducing the highway patrolling the highway robberies had come down, hesaid.
