Australia bring in four new caps for Champions Trophy

AGENCE FRANCE PRESSE
SYDNEY, OCT 1: Australia has included four uncapped players for the Champions Trophy men's hockey tournament in Lahore this month and is resting six of its Commonwealth Games gold medal side.

The new caps are Dean Butler, Troy Elder, Ben Taylor and Scott Webster.

``Our regulars have already played almost 40 internationals in the space we usually play 25 so I decided this would be an opportunity to give some of our players a break and blood some new players,'' Walsh said.

The top six teams in the World play in Lahore, including World Cup and Olympic champions, The Netherlands.

Spain, Pakistan, England and Germany, the defending champions from last year's tournament in Adelaide will also be present.

``Senior international competition is very different to junior competition and I'm expecting all of these players to step up to the next level,'' Walsh said.
