TIRUCHURAPPALLI, OCT 1: The Tamil Nadu police had done a commendable job in investigating the serial bomb blasts cases and there was no need for seeking CBI help in the matter, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has said.Several persons had been arrested in connection with the blast cases from various places including Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, he said adding that Tamil Nadu police was the best in the country.
Presenting ``Anna Police Medal'' to about 97 policemen here last night, the chief minister assured them that the government would look into all the grievances faced by them.
Karunanidhi also appealed to the people to be careful of such financial institutions and not to be lured away by them.
He said the DMK government, which had promoted about 20,000 policemen recently, was planning to promote about 2,500 head constables to a newly created post of special sub-inspectors.
Karunanidhi said his government had made over 23,000 police appointments, 13,400 of them against vacancies keptpending by the previous AIADMK government.
