MUMBAI, OCT 1: A woman was mercilessly killed by her husband at Dindoshi in Goregaon at 11 am today.According to the Dindoshi Police, Yashwant Atmaram Wagh (30) suspected that his wife Yogita (28) was having an extra-marital relationship with a colleague in her office.
In one of their regular fights over the issue, Yashwant, in a fit of anger picked up a marble platform used for making rotis and repeatedly hit it on Yogita's head, killing her on the spot.
The couple had married six years ago and have three children.
The police have arrested Yashwant and lodged a murder case against him.
2 DROWNED: The celebrations of the Navaratri and Durga Puja festivals in the city culminated in tragedy for a group of youths, when two of their friends drowned in the sea off the Aksa beach this evening.
According to Malwani Police, a group of around 50 youths had come to the beach to immerse an idol of Goddess Durga, kept for puja at the house of Santosh Gangaram Valmiki (19), at Ganesh Nagar in Kandivali(W).
While the others in the group came out of the sea after the immersion, Valmiki (19) and his friend Zahir Hussain Ashiq Poonawala (18), went further into the waters for a swim. However, they drowned in the strong currents.
They were rushed to the INS Hamla hospital, but were declared dead before admission.
