Hit-and-run
An unidentified cyclist was seriously injured and was admitted to the New Civil hospital after he was hit by a truck in the Kapodara area of the city late on Wednesday night, the police said. The truck driver fled the scene leaving his vehicle behind after the incident, the police added. According to the Kapodara police, the cyclist was hit by a truck (GH 9 T 7468) opposite Ganga Hotel near Magob village on the outskirts of the city. A case under sections 279 and 338 of the IPC as well as sections 177, 184 and 134 of the Motor Vehicles Act has been registered. Attempts are now being made to trace the truck driver.

Burns death
An employee of the Gujarat Electricity Board, Ukai, died early on Thursday in the Mahavir hospital of the city after he was admitted there with severe burns, the district police stated. Ganesh Solanki suffered burns because of a fire in his house, located in GEB Colony, Ukai, the police added. The fire was caused due to a LPG cylinder leakage, the police said. The police have registered a case under CrPC 174.

Vehicle theft
A motorcycle (GJ 5 E 9183) belonging to one Pravin Kachhadia was reported stolen during the early hours of Thursday, the police said. Kachhadia, a resident of plot no 53, Navapark Society at Varachhas lodged a complaint in the police station on Thursday morning stating that his motorcycle was stolen from the parking lot of his house between 1 am and 7 am. The Varachha police have registered a case and are investigating.

Three injured
Vadodara: Three people were injured when a ST bus (GJ 5Z 4429) collided with a LPG tanker (HR-38-A-6489) at Waghodia Crossing on the National Highway Number 8 on Thursday afternoon, the police said.
