According to fire brigade sources, Chinnama Maniakka (30), Rajesh (15), and Babu (12) were sheltering themselves from the cloudburst under a 10 foot high compound wall at Zarina Park when it toppled over them.

They were pulled from under the debris by local residents and rushed to the Shatabdi hospital, where they were declared dead after admission.

In another incident reported at 10.29 pm, two persons were swept away in a open flooded nullah at L U Gadkari Marg, Chembur. While a five-year-old boy was rescued by the locals, the other, a 30-year-old man, was still missing when reports last came in.

Then again, at 8.15 pm, two persons standing at a bus stop were injured when a tree fell on the stop at N S Park, near Babulnath Temple.
