Man beaten to death
Shambhu (22) was reportedly thrashed to death iron rods by three to four persons on Thursday evening in Mangolpuri. He was referred to the DDU Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Shambhu had apparently left his Nangloi house to attend Dussehra festivities in Mangolpuri. The police have registered a case of murder.20-yr-old youth stabbed, dies
A 20-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death in Basaidara Pur on Najafgarh road today afternoon. The police says that Aman was taken to Khetrapal hospital after the incident which informed the police about it around 2:30 pm. His condition being serious, Aman was later shifted to Deen Dayal Upadhaya hospital where he reportedly succumbed to injuries. A case of murder has been registered.
Two killed in road accidents
An unidentified scooterist was killed when his vehicle was reportedly hit by a truck near the Kirbi Place traffic intersection on Thursday. The Delhi Cantonment police have registered a case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving and have arrested the truck driver, Nanhe.
In an unrelated similar incident, an unidentified bicyclist was crushed to death by a crane in Mayapuri on Thursday. The crane driver, Hardev Kumar, has been arrested.
Bodies of two youths recovered
The bodies of two of the three youths who drowned in the Yamuna during the immersion of the idols of Goddess Durga on Thursday have been recovered. The body of Shivkumar, who drowned near the pontoon bridge in Shakarpur, was found floating in the Yamuna on Friday morning. Sixteen-year-old Paramjit Singh's body was recovered from Ramghat in Wazirabad at around 3 p.m. after passers-by informed a PCR about it.
Sewage plant inaugurated
A 45 mld sewage treatment plant in Faridabad constructed at a cost of Rs 20 crore was inaugurated today by the Haryana chief minister Bansi Lal. The plan for the plant has the approval of the National River Conservation Directorate and the ministry of environment and forests who've contributed Rs 72.02 crore towards it. Faridabad has been divided into three zones and a separate sewage treatment plant was set-up in each zone. While the Zone II plant was inaugurated today, the work at the other two plants is in the advanced stages of completion. The plant inaugurated today is equipped with a main pumping station, four reactors, screen chamber, gas holder, generator room, sludge withdrawal pits and staff quarters. A remarkable feature of the project is that the bio-gas produced at the plant will be utilized for the running of machinery. The treated effluent will find utilisation in irrigation and the sludge produced will be sold to the farmers for use as manure.
New ambulance for MI Room
A state-of-the-art ambulance and an auto-analyser was handed over by Dr Ranjana Malik, President of Army Welfare Wives Association (AWWA) to officer incharge Lt Col M.A. Hasib, Armed Forces Clinic Noida MI Room, on Wednesday morning.
