BMW has no plans for new Asian detours
German auto maker BMW AG on Saturday ruled out any fresh mergers, acquisitions or joint ventures with Asian car firms any time in the near future.

US readying list of blacklisted firms
The Clinton administration is getting ready to release a list of companies and government institutions in India and Pakistan that will be barred from doing business with the US if sanctions stay in place, the New York Times reported today.

Autonomy demand by Pakistan nationalities
About 20 nationalist parties from all the four provinces of Pakistan ended their first two-day convention here yesterday demanding a new arrangement in which all provinces would be given equal rights and the ``five nationalities'' in the country, formal recognition.
