SGU defers exam dates
The South Gujarat University has postponed BA, BSc, first, second and third year, P G Diploma in Pharmacy and LLB examinations for a week. The exams will now be held on November 9. A detailed examination scheduled will be announced later, according to a statement.

Telephone adalat
As many as 46 cases were settled at the 10th Telephone Adalat held on Saturday. Held under the chairmanship of General Manager Telecom at Narayan Chambers, Khan Bazaar, Varachha road, a total 96 cases were referred to it, of which five were rejected on the grounds that no previous reference was given. While 30 cases were not considered due to vigilance reasons, 10 were pending for want of documents.

Selection trial
The LIC Western Zone Badminton selection trial 98-99 will be held at the Students' Activity Centre, SVR Engineering College, on October 5 and 6. While participants representing various divisions of LIC from Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa are expected to take part, the women's section of the Surat Division would be represented by J R Shah, while Arvind Haribab will lead the men's section. To be inaugurated by S A Raval, secretary Gujarat state Badminton Association, Surat Municipal Commissioner S Jagadeesan will give away prizes to winners at the closing ceremony.

Mandal meeting
The Surat Shahar Sankool Khedut Mandal and Surat Zila Khedut Samaj have convened at meeting on October 6 at 2 pm to discuss and assess the damage caused by the recent floods. While the meeting will be held at Amidhara, Kadwa Patidar Samaj Wadi, opposite Navyug college, Rander, Khedut Mandal president Vipinbhai Desai, Khedut Samaj president Karshanbhai Patel among others will be present.

Corps Day
Vadodara: The 55th EME Corps Day will be celebrated at the EME school accompanied by a Badakhana on October 12. It will be held at the Eugene Stadium of EME School at 7 pm. All JCOs and retired personnel from EME school interested in taking part in the event should contact subedar major M C Chacko on 481762.
