Medical benefits for all Delhi Jal Board employees

NEW DELHI, October 4: An order has been issued to reimburse the medical expenses of all employees of the Delhi Jal Board at par with class A and B officers irrespective of the nature of the disease. The order, which ends the discriminatory policy after 10 years, comes after an agreement between the Delhi Jal Board management and a Joint Action Committee. Nearly 2,500 employees will benefit from this decision.The Jal Board has told the Joint Action Committee to release the payments ex-gratia to all eligible employees before Diwali as per a government notification. A five-member committee has been constituted to look into the matter of a Group Housing Society for the Jal Board employees. The setting up of six new departmental dispensaries, including one in outer Delhi, has also been approved. The other demands of the employees which are under consideration include time-scale promotion, upgradation of posts and clauses for voluntary retirement.
