NEW DELHI, October 6: N D Victor (Jalandhar) and Government School (Bhambhewa) scored thumping victories over their respected rivals in the boys section of the sixth lala Raghubir Singh inter-school invitation hockey tournament at Shivaji Stadium here today.Victor School defeated Modern School, Vasant Vihar by a handsome 7-0 margin. The winners led 5-0 at the interval.
Indervir Singh (2), Harjinder Singh, Jatinder Singh, Ravi Pal, Harmeek Singh and Satvinder Singh scored a goal each for the Jalandhar school team.
The Bhambhewa school triumphed over Military School (Bihar) 4-0 after leading 3-0 at the end of the first session. Ladan Khan, Manoj Kumar, Ajay Kumar and Pavious Toppo scored a goal ecah.
In the girls section, Girls High School, Patna defeated St Mary's School, Gumla 2-1. The teams were locked 1-1 at the end of the first half. Poonam Kumari scored both the goals for the winners. In another encounter, hosts Modern School (Vasant Vihar) beat Guru Harkishan Public School (India Gate) 2-0. The winners led 1-0 at the interval. Vrinda and Vaishnavi Bhatia scored a goal each.
CRPF triumph: CRPF Public School, Rohini drubbed St Francis de Bales School, Janakpuri 6-0 in the CBSE inter-school cluster 10 football tournament at Laxman Public School here today.
Divyanshu (3), Gaurav (1), Ashish (1) and Amit (1) were the scorers.
