MUMBAI, Oct 10: Central Railway Institute will play Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF) in the men's team final of the MIG Cricket Club-organised Open State Ranking table tennis tournament.The railway side blanked Khar Gymkhana 3-0 while RCF edged past BSES 3-2 to set a date for tomorrow's final.
Nishant Kulkarni put Central Railway Institute ahead with a 20-22, 21-17, 21-19. Ganadeep Bhivandkar got the better of Zubin Panthaky 21-18, 21-17 to make it 2-0 before James Joseph sealed a place in the final for the railway side with a 21-17, 21-17 win over Tarun Gupta.
RCF made the title clash with some difficulty -- Mahendra Chipulunkar and Nilesh Pandirkar losing a match each before winning their reverse singles. RCF's Chiplunkar went down to Rajesh Sharma 12-21, 19-21 but beat Nilesh Limaye 21-15, 21-16 while team-mate Nilesh Pandirkar beat Rajesh Sharma 21-13, 21-8 after losing to Nilesh Limaye 19-21, 16-21 to leave the scores level. Aditya Mahagaonkar then scored a 15-21, 21-7, 23-21 win overGunasheel Sarvade to haul RCF into the final.

Deepali, Mehra best
Second-seeded Deepali Jhaveri and top seed Sanjeev Mehra won the women's and men's singles titles, respectively, in the Thane District Ranking table tennis tournament, co-sponsored by Ideal Road Builders and conducted by the Maratha Hitwardhak Mandal, Dombivli, today.
Deepali toppled top seed Amruta Joshi, 21-15, 21-17, 21-13, while Mehra beat fourth seed Sameer Saralkar 21-14, 21-15, 21-12.
