OCTOBER 11: Vivardhan Kanoria of Cricket Club of India (CCI) swept the medals tally in boys under-11 category claiming four gold in the Weekender Invitational Swimming Meet at the Khar Gymkhana pool today.The fifth standard student of Campion School won the individual medley, breast stroke, butter-fly and back stroke races to clinch the individual honours of the event.
In the women open individual medley, Sindoor Thakkar of Otters won the gold clocking 2.43:02 minutes while Radhika Lakhani, also from Otters, claimed silver.
In the men's 200 mts individual medley, Khar Gymkhana swimmers emerged supreme with V Vinod, Rajamani and Avinash Kriplani, claiming the first three spots. Vinod timed 2.39.35.
In the girls under-15 back stroke, Otters Club's Rashi Oberoi (1.23:40) won the gold while Gayatri Dhumatkar and Shi Yen Shu won the silver and bronze respectively.

MSP stay in race
Maharashtra State Police stayed in the race for the spot in next year's Super Division with a 1-0 win over Western Railway at the Cooperage today.The win took MSP ahead of Bombay Customs onto second place with 31 points, behind Father Agnel,in the Western India Football Association Senior Division standings.
Customs suffered a setback when their match against Fr Agnel was abandoned following heavy rains that rendered the ground unplayable. Both teams were locked goalless at the end of the first half.
Abdul Abid scored in the 49th minute to give MSP a vital win with one match to go.
Burhani Cricket
To commemorate the 87th birthday of His Holiness Dr Syednna Mohammed Burhanuddin, the supreme head of the Dawoodi Bohra Community, an All-India Bohra community cricket tournament, titled the Burhani Shield cricket tournament is in progress.
After teams from 16 centres played at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal and Ujjain, the quarter-finalists were spotted and these matches will be played in Mumbai on October 13, followed by the semi-finals on October 14 and the final, to be played at the Wankhede Stadium on October 15.
