Director's Visit: I N Chatterjee, Director, (Finance) ONGC, visited Regional Office, Vadodara on October 8. He held a series of meetings with the senior finance and accounts officials. In a meeting held at the Officers' Club, he addressed more than 300 officers from all projects of Western Region and stressed upon the need for every employee to adopt an analytical approach towards his contribution to the organisation so that it added value to ONGC. In the open house session that followed, he appreciated the views and suggestions put forth by the officers.

Marathon: ONGC was one of the sponsoring companies for the II Vadodara National Marathon '98 held on Sunday. The selection of Marathon runners for the Bangkok Asian games was also expected to be made during the course of the Marathon. Besides financial assistance, ONGC also provided infrastructure, technical and managerial assistance.

Workshop conducted: The Mehsana project conducted a one-day workshop on the `Role of P&A Officers in Achieving Missions and Objectives of ONGC in the Changing Scenario.' During the day-long workshop, 17 executives of the project gave presentation on various topics, including the topics on OTP with special reference to Human Resource Management and the Introduction of Integrated Materials Management Systems (IMMS).
