Sushma's swearing-in likely today
With elections to the Assembly just 40 days away, Information and Broadcasting Minister Sushma Swaraj was today unanimously elected leader of the Delhi BJP legislature party and is likely to be sworn in as Chief Minister tomorrow in place of Sahib Singh Verma.6,000 bunkers for residents
The Jammu and Kashmir government will build around 6,000 bunkers to protect the people living along the Line of Control (LoC). The construction, provoked by the heavy shelling from across the border in which 60 persons have died this year, is estimated to cost Rs 16 crore.
CPM politburo formation later
The CPI(M) today deferred the formation of its new politburo till December in view of the November 25 Assembly elections in four states. The central committee of the party would meet in Delhi in December to constitute the new politburo, which was scheduled for today, West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu has said.
