Bhola and his brother, Hari Om, both residents of Kutwa village in Uttar Pradesh's Bara Banki district, had joined service at a poultry farm in Industrial Area, Phase I, a few months ago, police said. The two, along with the families of farm cashier Nagender Prasad and co-worker Bal Bahadur, had been residing at the poultry farm.

Last evening, the two reportedly went back to the poultry farm and told others there that they had found Rs 300 lying at the local railway station platform. They offered to spend the money in celebration. The idea, obviously, was a hit with everyone on the poultry farm; sweets and liquor were bought with the money and distributed among the 10-odd persons living there, sources added.

Once everyone fell asleep after consuming the sweets, the two reportedly emptied the cash box, gathered valuables and dashed for the railway station. However, unfortunately for the two, Bal Bahadur's son, Krishan Bahadur, did not eat the sweets due to an upset stomach. He informed the police and the two were nabbed before they could leave the City, it was added.

The seven, including four women, who were drugged were Nagender, Balraj, Sunita, Virender, Naranjan, Sharda Devi and Surji. They were hospitalised at the Sector 32 GMC.
