Busybee buzzes, round and about, from B'bay to Mumbai
Saturday night provided cause for double celebration for Behram Contractor aka Busybee: it was the eve of his sixty-eighth birthday, and it marked the launch of his first book From Bombay to Mumbai at the Oberoi Towers' Lancers Bar. The 256-page book, divided into 12 sections, has the best of Busybee's columns from 1996 and 1997.

Knot too tight? Some Egyptians manage to "pass by"
Egyptians seeking to tie the knot, but not tie it too tight, are increasingly opting for "passers-by" marriages in which the husband visits his wife occasionally but never stays the night. This unorthodox coupling appears to get around the age-old problem of eligible women gradually turning into spinsters when no man asks for their hand.

Life on earth came from stars: Report
By observing a cloud of gas about 1,500 light years away, an international team of astronomers has found evidence that life on earth originated among the distant stars and planets. The findings suggest that organic molecules -- the building block of life -- have travelled to earth in comets and meteorites.
