A recipient of the President's police medal for meritorious service, Jadhav had been deputed to Lonavla since March 1997. He was involved in various social activities. He developed the first traffic park in the State for children at Solapur to create awareness about traffic discipline. He also developed a children's park at Lonavala and cultural hall at Dehu Road. At Kondhwa near Satara, he had set up a gymnasium. He was among the winners of University of Pune body building championship.

Jadhav is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter. Commissioner of Police K K Kashyap and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Prakash Pawar have mourned his death.
