COLOMBO, Oct 13: The body of an Indian woman who was abducted from a beach on the outskirts of the capital two days ago was found in a deep mud pit in the area on Tuesday.Three men have been arrested for the abduction and murder of the 29-year-old woman, Rita, who was here on her honeymoon. She was married last month in Mumbai to a Sri Lankan marine engineer, Jude Manoharan.
Three men attacked Manoharan with cycle chains befire they bundled his wife into an autorickshaw on Sunday afternoon when the couple was out strolling on a deserted beach at Modera near Manoharan's home.
A manhunt was launched for Rita and her kidnappers by the army and police who found her in the mud pit. Police said she had been gang-raped before being killed.
