Ashoka beat Challenger
A stroke-filled century by Sanju (124: 11x6,10x4 off 58 ball) and a fiery half century by Harun (76: 10x6, 2x4 off 30 balls) helped Ashoka Cricket Club beat Challenger Club by 33 runs in the B.B. Jhingan Memorial tournament at MCD ground, Chandni Chowk. Chasing the target of 229, Challengers could manage 197 runs at the cost of seven wickets, despite a brilliant 81 runs by Rohit Sharma.

Brief Scores: Ashoka: 228 for 6 in 22 overs (Sanju 124, Harun 76, Himanshu 2 for 30) bt Challengers: 195 for 7 in 22 overs (Rohit Sharma 81, Himanshu 47, Amit Rana 35, Sanju 2 for 31, Bhola 2 for 35).

Queen Mary's win
Queen Mary's School humbled Presentation Convent School (B) 22-3 in the Ishani Makkar Memorial Inter-School softball tournament. Nuria, Sugandh, Supreet and Meghna (three runs each) were the scorers for the winners. In the second match, Mater Dei (A) defeated Rosary Senior Sec. School 13-1. Sana, Soumya, Thelma and Mansi (two runs each) were the contributers for Mater Dei.

Title for Vivekanand
Swami Vivekanand Senior Secondary School, Krishna Nagar, clinched the titles in both senior and junior sections of the third zonal badminton tournament.

Swami Vivekanand defeated Gandhi Nagar No. 1 School 2-0 in both the junior and sub-junior sections. In junior section, Nisha beat Jyoti 11-0, 11-5 and Kavita beat Poonam 11-1, 11-7 while in the sub junior section Komal defeated Kirti 11-1, 11-1 and Satvinder got past Vaishali 11-3, 11-5.

Karate tourney
Martial Arts Coaches Federation of India will organise a karate championship from October 22 to 23 at IG stadium. About 800 players from all over the country are expected to participate in the championship, according to the federation general secretary, Shiran Harish.

CBSE table tennis
Mount Carmel Public School beat Nav Bharti Senior Secondary School 3-0 in the CBSE table tennis tournament. In other matches, GHPS (India Gate) humbled New Delhi Public School (Vasant Vihar) 3-0; Mother International Public School drub Laxman Public School 3-2; Ramjas Senior Wing beat GHPS (Punjabi Bagh) 3-2; GHPS (Vasant Vihar) beat GNPS (Punjabi Bagh) 3-0 and Bal Bharti Public School beat Adarsh Public School.

Selection trials
The Delhi GO club will hold a selection trial for GO in the second week of January. Two top players will represent India in the 21st World Amateur GO championship in Japan.
