Bodies found
An unidentified youth ended his life by jumping in Sursagar lake on Thursday morning, the police said. According to the Fire Brigade and Raopura police, his body was fished out from the pond after they were informed about a body floating in the Sursagar. In another case, the police recovered the body of old man, from Nyaya Mandir area.

Truck stolen
Ashok Doshi, resident of Karelibaug, has lodged a complaint with the police that his driver Balwinder Singh alias Bira had run away with a chemical-laden truck (GJ-7-X-7015), both the vehicle and chemicals worth over Rs 4 lakh. The complainant said that the truck was Hyderabad bound and had not reached yet, the police said.

Stolen
A Valuables worth over Rs 47,000 were stolen from a house in the Chhani area, police said on Wednesday. According to police, some miscreants had forced their entry into the house of one Pratapbhai Gohil, in the Navapura Upendranagar area and stolen various jewellery and cash worth over Rs 47,000.

Vehicle thefts
A motorcycle (GJ-6-CC-388) and a Luna (GJ-6-CC-3084) were reported to have been lifted from different parts of the city, police said.

Ban orders
The Commissioner of Police has prohibited assembly of four or more persons in the commissionerate area of the city till October 27, an official release said here on Wednesday.

Suicides
Surat: Two persons, a young housewife and a middle-aged man, committed suicide by hanging themselves on Thursday, according to separate cases registered in the Umra and Udhna police stations of the city. Sandhya Tandlekar, a resident of Gokulnagar slum in Bhatar area of the city, committed suicide on Thursday afternoon in her house because of an argument with her husband earlier in the day, the Umra police said. In another case of suicide, Mochiram Shahu committed suicide by hanging himself to a pillar of an underbridge at Udhna Road on Thursday afternoon.
