Cong rally today

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
SURAT, Oct 15: The city Congress party will on Friday take out a rally and submit a memorandum to the District Collector over the the rising prices of essential commodities. The rally will be led by city unit general secretary Bhupendra Solanki.

City unit president Thakore Naik said the prices of all the essential commodities had soared so much that the people were no longer able to buy goods since the BJP Government assumed power in the State. He said that while the onions had already gone out of the reach of people, the cooking oil was selling at over Rs 80 a kg in view of the festivals.

He also came down heavily on the Government for its ``dismal performance'' on the law and order front, implementation of social schemes and handling cash relief distribution among the flood victims.
