Panel on UT villages continues stir

CHANDIGARH, Oct 20: The chain hunger strike being resorted to by the Action Committee for Development of UT Villages here entered its 12th day today. According to the information received by the CN, the committee members continued with their fast even on the Diwali day yesterday, to press for the demands. They held rally in the middle of Sector 17, which was probably the busiest place yesterday, being the main shopping complex of the City.Eighteen persons, including some of the Action Committee's office bearers, took part in the protest. The committee is demanding regularisation of houses beyond the Lal Dora and provision of civic amenities to the people residing in these houses.
