He disclosed that Minister of State for Youth Welfare and Sports Praveen Sharma had been made election in charge for the bye-elections.

He said the party would win the bye-election as the people of the state had full faith in the policies and programmes of the BJP-HVC coalition government in the state. He termed the assertion of the Himachal Congress president Sat Mahajan that the BJP government would fall soon as absurd. He said that in fact Congress was suffering from internal dissensions and added that Mahajan was trying to hide behind false allegations against BJP.

Chandel thanked Planning Commission vice chairman Jaswant Singh for increasing the plan allocation for the state and praised the efforts of Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal in presenting the financial situation of the state in a befitting manner. He hoped that the new plan would help in carrying out developmental activities in the state.
