The incident occurred around 7 p.m. last night when Veena Sabharwal, her husband, son and Deepak their domestic helper went to Central Market to shop for crackers.The victims, Veena and Deepak remained in the car at the parking lot near the police station, while her husband and son went out to shop.

According to the police, Kashmira approached the vehicle and apparently requested Veena to move the car as it was obstructing the way. Veena then reportedly asked him to move the car himself as she could not drive. Kashmira got in the driver's seat and allegedly took out his knife and threatened the two. As he drove on with the two hostages, Deepak managed to jump out and raise an alarm.
