Action sought against overage Delhi players
An affected parent, whose son could not find a place in the Delhi under-19 team for the Cooch Behar Trophy, has filed a criminal case with the Delhi Police against another player who is reportedly over 19. ``One of the players named in the squad, Rajeev Vohra, is even married. It is a clear case of infringement of marriage law and the rules of the BCCI,'' he said in his complaint. Khurana has further said that many players have ``submitted their marksheets of secondary school from Meerut and nearby states'' and has sought proper investigation.

Union Academy, CRZ win
A brace by Raju (19th &34th minutes) helped Union Academy defeat YMCA Sports Hostel (Chennai) 5-0 in the Junior Nehru hockey tournament for boys. Sanjay Gandhi Hr Sec School (Gujarat) beat Udai Pratap Inter-College (Varanasi) 2-1 in a Pool B match. In another Pool B match, CRZ boys (Sonepat) scored 10-1 win over SM Lohia College (Kolhapur).

SRCC enter semi-finals
Sri Ram College of Commerce beat Kirori Mal College 72-68 to join Hindu and PGDAV College in the semi-finals of the YMCA Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament. In another match, Bhagat Singh College beat Zakir Hussain 52-31 while Sri Venkateswara College got a walk-over against St Stephan's College. In the women's section, Jesus and Mary beat Indraprastha 38-29 while St Stephan's defeated Lady Sri Ram 64-14.

Paragon humble Hind Club
Paragon defeated Hind Club by four wickets in a DDCA league. In another match, Alpine beat Universal by three wickets. Karanjit scored 50 for Alpine while Balbir Bisht (35) was the top scorer for Universal.

Brief Scores: Paragon: 121 for 6 in 33 overs (Ravinder Gill 38, Raj Pal 27, RS Rana 2 for 16, Sushil Dogra 2 for 22) bt Hind Club: 120 for 6 in 35 overs (Vinod Kumar 31, Sanjay Dhiman 24, Ravinder Gill 3 for 28). Alpine: 142 for 7 in 29 overs (Karanjit Singh 50, Dinesh Verma 27, Annand Rawat 2 for 12, Virender 2 for 23) bt Universal: 141 for 7 in 30 overs (Balbir Bisht 35, Sandip Chapperjee 33, Bhupinder 3 for 22, Himanshu 2 for 35).

Volleyball championships
The Delhi State Volleyball Championship for junior boys and girls will be held from Oct 22 to 25 at Sports Complex, Dhaka. The events for senior men and women begins from October 27-31 at Naharpur (Sector 7, Rohini). Last date for sending entries is October 23. The players for the Delhi teams will be picked up during the tournament. Meanwhile, the Delhi Volleyball Association is conducting an examination for the state refrees on October 24 at Sports Complex, Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Dhaka, Delhi-9.
