SP lift D'Mello Trophy
Sir Parshurambhau College emerged inter-collegiate cricket champions with a five-wicket win over Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC) and lifted the D'Mello Trophy -- the symbol of supremacy among the senior ranks today.

Batting first, the BMCC batting line-up scored runs at a slow pace and also lost wickets at regular intervals. Their only worthwhile batsmen turned out in the form of Indrajeet Kamtekar who stayed put for a longer time at the wicket to top-score with 52 runs, which helped their innings finish at 142 in 41 overs. SP College aided by Vivek Deshmukh (42) and Kaushik Aphale (35) romped home easy victors.

BMCC: 142; 41 overs (Indrajeet Kamtekar 52, Sandip Lele 4/20, Sagar Bhargude 3/20) lost to S.P College: 144 for 5; 40.3 overs (Vivek Deshmukh 42, Kaushik Aphale 35, Indrajeet Kamtekar 2/16).

PDWA to conduct trials
The Pune District Wrestling Association (PDWA) will conduct its selection trials to pick their district squad at Wagholi, on October 24 and 25. Those selected will represent Pune at the Maharashtra Kesri wrestling meet at Nagpur from November 6.

The meet will be conducted for the senior and junior sections in the Greco Roman and Freestyle. The seniors weight categories include the 54, 58, 63, 69, 76, 85, 97 kilogram sections and Maharashtra Kesri category for above 85 kg.For further details contact secretary -- Vilas Kathure on Tel: 527480.

Melbourne, `A' Eleven win
Melbourne Cricket Club and `A' Eleven increased their points tally by registering wins in their respective league matches in the ongoing Late Sadu Shinde League league.

Melbourne C.C: 204 for 5; 40 overs Walthure 44, Ramesh Tikone 27 n.o., Amit Kumbhare 23, Milind Yadav 29) b Khadki C.C: 155; 35.3 overs Sheklatkar 21, Ramesh Tikone 14/3, Kumar Bankhile 26/3).

Young Tayyabi: 106; 35 oversMahesh Burate 24/3, Dilip Zende 14/3, Prashant Jadhav 24/2) lost to A Eleven CC: 109 for 4; 20.4 overs.
