Awareness programme on AIDS organised in colony no 4

CHANDIGARH, Oct 22: A training and awareness programme on AIDS was organised for the residents of colony no. 4, Industrial Area, by the Mukti Welfare Society, Chandigarh, informed Pritpal Singh, and Avtar Singh, president and general secretary of the MWS in a press release issued here today.

Mayor Gian Chand Gupta, who was chief guest on the occasion, said that people needed to be educated more about AIDS as it was fast spreading in the region".

Dr N M Sharma, assistant director, AIDS Control Programme, showed slides and video clipping on the subject during the meet. Dr R S Sandhu, director, Health Services, UT, Dr R S Sandhu and Dr Vanita Gupta, skin specialist, general hospital, were also present on the occasion.
