PATIALA, Oct 23: Patiala won the gymnastics team title in the Punjab State Games for junior at the Polo grounds here today. Gurdaspur got second place while the third place went to Jalandhar.Maha Singh of Sangrur won the 100 metres race clocking 11.7. Lakhbir Singh of Ropar and Navjot Singh of Amritsar got the second and third place respectively.
In the badminton final, Sangrur will take on Jalandhar who defeated Patiala 2-0 in semi-final. In the second semi-final Sangrur caused a major upset when they defeated Ludhiana 2-1.

Amritsar on top
Harshdeep Singh (91) and Chandan Madan (71) helped Amritsar pile up 300 runs on the first day of the final against Chandigarh in Punjab Inter District Cricket Tournament for Dhruv Pandove under-19 trophy at the Dhruv Pandove Stadium.
Harshdeep Singh and Chandan Madan were associated in a 127-run for the fifth wickets partnership. Sanjay Kumar and Pankaj Behal contributed 50 and 28 runs respectively. for their team.
For Chandigarh, Anurag took three wickets for 35 runs. Yuvraj Singh and Sanjay Dhul got two wickets each for 59 and 82 runs respectively.
In reply, Chandigarh began badly by losing three wickets for just 31 runs.
Delhi win
On the second day of the North Zone Inter-University kabaddi (men) competition being held here on the campus, Delhi University defeated Bundelkhand University, Jhansi by 81-4 points.
In other matches Kurukshetra beat Jammu by 32-3 points, Rohelkhand lost to Ambedkar, University, Agra by 70-51 points and M D University, Rohtak beat H.P. by 74-23 points.
Pushpa steals show
Hamirpur: Pushpa Thakur of Hamirpu won 800 and 100 metres races in the first Himachal Pradesh prize money athletic championship here today. Earlier, Anil Sharma, MP and the president of the HP Amateur Athletic Association, inaugurated the meet.
