RAJKOT, Oct 25: Local scribes here boycotted an official get-together programme hosted by Gujarat Governor Anshuman Singh at the circuit house on Sunday. Singh was supposed to attend a `sneh- milan' programme arranged by the information department at 11 a.m.Already late in arriving at the venue, the Governor was escorted to a VVIP room by the government officials instead of meeting the journalists. Incidentally, it was first official function for the journalists in the Vikram Sambat 2055.
The scribes finally quietly walked out off the meeting room after 11.30 a.m. District Collector Pravin Trivedi, joint director of information Dipak Bhatt and assistant director Pashant Pandya, among others, tried to get them to return but failed.
Later, at another function, the Governor said his arrival in Rajkot had been delayed and officials hadn't inform the press of the delay.
