IAF humble National

NEW DELHI, Oct 25: High drama was witnessed in the qualifying round of DCM football tournament here today. While, Indian National got a walkover from City Club who could not field the full team and conceded the match, IAF earned a walkover against Hindustan Club as the club was refrained from fielding a team consisting of the five `controversial' players by DSA. The DCM organisers, after waiting till the last moment, decided to give walkover to IAF.

As both the matches scheduled for the day failed to materialise, the orginsers decided to hold the match between Air Force and Indian National, which was originally scheduled for tomorrow.

IAF defeated National 4-3 via penalty shootout to enter the pre-quarter final round. Dharmender Kharola gave National the lead in the 36th minute but R Gosain drew parity for Air Force in the 67th minute.
