NAGPUR, Oct 26: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters here has denied newspapers reports that there was an illegal construction in its chief Rajju Bhaiyya's land at Allahabad.Several newspapers came out with the report that the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Uttar Pradesh slapped a fine of Rs 7.62 lakh on Rajju Bhaiyya for violation of a lease agreement and illegal construction at his house in Allahabad recently.
The reports said that Allahabad district Magistrate Aloke Tandon in a letter to the Sangh chief on October 6 last has directed him to deposit Rs 7.62 lakh for his leased house at 37, Tashkand Road in Allahabad. The letter said that the lease expired 40 years back but Rajju Bhaiyya went for illegal construction in the premises violating lease norms. Tandon has also pointed out that the RSS boss had even rented out a portion of the house which was in gross violation of the norms.
Issuing a press statement Ram Kripal Singh, a close associate of RSS chief and custodian of theland said that Jwala Devi, mother of Rajju Bhaiyya, donated her property for public cause and educational institutions during her life time. One Bal Kalyan Samiti, a trust, runs educational institutions there. Whatever Rajju Bhaiyya or his mother have owned at Allahabad has been donated by them for charitable purposes.
Mishra said that the press has unnecessarily dragged Prof Rajendra Singh's name without verifying the facts from the municipal records. ``For the very purpose of performing Sewa Karya running the institutions, managing the property, I hold all rights over the property as general attorney and as secretary of Keshav Smarak, Allahabad. For all purposes this institution is the owner of the property and is managing the same through me. On this property there are no illegal construction whatever, and the nazul chief has also confirmed that there is no illegal construction or violation of any rules,'' he said.
In government records, whatever property is shown in the name of Rajendra Singh(although donated) there is no illegal construction, Mishra further claimed. According to him, the property, donated by Jwala Devi to Bal Kalyan Samiti, is running educational institutions namely: Jwala Devi Vidya Mandir and Saraswati Shishu Mandir. If any proceedings have to be drawn it has to be in the name of Bal Kalyan Samiti whose name has been mutated in the municipal records as owner and the RSS chief has nothing to do with it.
