NEW DELHI, Oct 27: After Coke and Kentucky Fried Chicken, "Clintonitis" which shook the mighty American establishment has finally arrived here albeit on canvas, courtesy Ahmedabad-based painter Mohsin Shaikh and his vivid portrayal of the Monicagate scandal. It was nothing short of a feast for the international media and the Capital's elite who thronged the Image India Art Gallery as noted columnist, Khushwant Singh unveiled the 11 portraits that explicitly portray the ``inappropriate relationship'' that US President Bill Clinton shared with former White House intern, Monica Lewinsky.
When asked to justify his nude portraits, Shaikh said, ``My objective is not to sensationalise. It is to convey a message that the ruler should always be above board. He goes on to ask, ``If the Americans can impose economic sanctions against our nuke test, why cannot we comment on their affairs?''
