Shaikh claims a hat-trick

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, Oct 27: Shaikh, who finished with figures of 5-22, was largely instrumental in Amrut Education's emphatic eight-wicket victory over Holy Angels, Mulund.

On a day when bowlers dominated the proceedings in the 40-overs-a-side encounter, BKM, Chowpatty's Rajesh Darji too impressed claiming eight wickets conceding 27 runs. But his efforts went in vain as BKM lost to St Joseph, Vikhroli by 56 runs.

Dhananjay Sawant of Modern English, however, faced no such humiliation in his team's six-wicket win over Children Welfare, Versova. The young medium-pacer scalped six wickets for a measly eight runs.

Akshay Girap's fine all-round show (4-20 and 26 not out) powered Madhavrao Bhagwat to a convincing eight-wicket victory over Manav Mandir.

Neil Shah (81), came up with the only fifty plus score of the day, as GD Somani handed out a 160-run drubbing to Holy Cross, Kurla.
