All-round display by Raman Gupta
Fine all-round performance by skipper Raman Gupta helped Shri Ram College of Commercedefeat Shyamlal College by 119 in the inter-college cricket tournament at the Khalsa College here today.

Put in to bat, SRCC were going steadily. Raman Gupta, who opened the innings with Mayur, provided the platform for the later batsmen to capitalise on. However, some quick wickets in between put paid to their ambition as the team folded making 212.

Raman top scored with 77 which contained eight boundaris and came off in 82 balls. Mayur also chipped in with 44 and Haroon made 24 to swell their total. Pankan with 5 for 21 was the most successful bowler while Amit captured three wickets, conceding 29 runs.

In reply, Shyamlal College were shot out for a paltry93 with Raman Gupta turning his arm to capture five wickets. His eight-over spell of medium-pace cost him just 14 runs as he ripped the top-order with accurate bowling. In his first spell he claimed the Shyamlal College openers and then came back to shatter the middle-order as well.

Brijesh, coming at No. 9, used the long handle effectively to score 14. Brief Scores: SRCC 212 (Raman Gupta 77, Mayur 41, Pankaj 5 for 21, Amit 3 for 29). Shyam Lal College 93 (Brijesh 14, Raman Gupta 5 for 14, Haroon 2 for 2 15, Aditya 2 for 6).

Subir, Hiran excel
A fine spell of bowling by Subir Bisht (5 for 20) helped ICICI prevail over American Express Bank (AEB) by four wickets in the second Duttu Phadkar Memorial tournament, organised by Tata Energy Research Institute at Palam.In another match, Hiran Upadhyay's deadly bowling (6 for 6) enabled Bechtel crush P&O Travel India by 52 runs. Chinnappa was the top scorer for the winners.

Brief Scores: ICICI: 109 (Rajiv 33 not out, Sambath 23, Naveen Gupta 4 for 15) bt AEB: 108 (Amit Garg 31, Subir Bisht 5 for 20, Rajbis 2 for 19). Bechtel: 143 (Chinnappa 55, Mahesh 2 for 17, Vinod 2 for 25) bt P&O Travel India: 61 (Hiran Upadhyay 6 for 6).

Roller skating meet
The Delhi state roller skating championship will be held at Talkatora rink from November 15 to 18. About 500 skaters from Delhi schools are expected to participate. The age groups will be as per RSFI rules starting from under-6 years, 6 to 9, 9 to 12, 12 to 16 and above 16 years.

The selection of Delhi team for the forthcoming national championship to be held at Vishakapatnam from December 13 to 18, will also be done during the meet.

Entry forms can be had from Rajan Sahney, Talkatora Skating Rink; Gulrattan Singh Rathore, GHPS, Vasant Vihar and Ravi Sharma, Skating Rink, Punjabi Bagh Club. Entries close on November 13 at 5 pm.

Utrakhand triumph
All-round performance by Kishore Rana (32 and 2 for22) helped Utrakhand Cricket Club beat Sahibabad Cricket Club by seven wickets.

Brief Scores: Utrakhand: 111 (Kishore Rana 32, Ranjit 25, Kishanu 1 for 12, Madan Raghwan 2 for 38) bt Sahibabad club:110 (Virender Singh 28, Harish Gupta 20, Kishore Rana 2 for 22 and Jaikarat Rawat 3 for 24).

Sawan sparkles
Sawan Kumar's stroke-filled half century (52) helped Shanti Cricket Academy down Tissot Academy by five runs in the second Shanti Cup tournament at Santi sports club, Vasant Kunj.

Brief Scores: Shanti: 148 (Sawan Kumar 52, Mukesh Malik 25, Devender 3 for 10) bt Tissot: 143 (Abhinav 20, Rajiv 23, Subhiksh Vasudev 2 for 17, Praveen 3 for 34, Pankaj 2 for 17).

Modern School prevail
Modern School (Vasant Vihar) humbled Fr Agnel's School 55-36 in Daulat Ram Memorial basketball tournament at New Green Field School courts.

In other matches, New Green Field School (Saket) defeated Shri Ram School 40-32; Air Force Bal Bharti School overwhelmed Amity International (Saket) 44-27 while Ryan International School (Vasant Kunj) prevailed over St George's School 38-33.

Javed, Pradeep shine
An all-round performance by Javed (82 and 2 for 30) and a fine spell of bowling by Deepak Bahl (3 for 21) helped Three Star beat Sarojini Nagar club by six wickets of the DDCA, Division-C league match at Kotla. In another match, Pradeep Bisht's 52 helped Alpine Club crush Vipul Sarees by seven wickets in Division-B match at Yamuna Sports Complex. The other scorers for Alpine included Karanjeet Singh (35) and Dinesh Verma (32). Himanshu and Sudhanshu claimed three wickets apiece.

Alpine: 253 (Pradeep Bisht 52, Karan Jeet Singh 35, Dinesh Verma 32, Brijesh Obrai 1 for 19, Yougesh Kukreti 1 for 17) bt Vipul Sarees: 152 ( Brijesh Obrai 45, Vabhav 34, Himanshu Mehta 3 for 24, Sudhanshu Sharma 3 for 28, Gagan Sharma 2 for 38).

Ansul, Tony impressive
An impressive display by Ansul Lamba (3 for 8 and 23) and fine knock by Tony Singh (44) enabled Chand Khanna XI beat West Delhi Cricket Academy by 52 runs in the Raman Lamba Memorial (under-16) tournament at Bharat Nagar sports complex ground.

Shekhawat stars
All-round display by Hemant Shekhawat (51 and 3 for 29) helped Radha Kishan Club beat Rex Club by 20 runs in a limited overs match.

Railways, Finance win
Ministry of Railway and Finance Ministry teams emerged the winners at the end of the first round of Inter-ministry chess championship beating Water Resources Ministry 4-0 and Environment and Forest Ministry 4-0,respectively.

Results: Railways bt Water Resources 4-0; UPSC lost to Defence 3.5-.5; Communication lost to Planning 1-3; Industry lost to Deptt of Elec 1-3; Finance bt Environment and Forest 4-0; Power lost to Health 1-3; I&B drew Cabinet Sectt 2-2; IB (MHA) bt Urban Affairs 3-1 and Lok Sabha bt Agriculture Ministry.

Annual Sports Day
The annual sports day function of Geeta Bal Bharti Senior Secondary School, Rajgarh Colony, will be held at 9.30 am on October 30.
