BANGALORE, Oct 28: Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda postponed his meeting with the dissident legislators on Wednesday in view of the clashes in Shira where both agitating farmers and police officers died.``In view of the development in Shira I am postponing the meeting with my legislators. Do not worry about when this meeting will be held. I can take care of it'', he said while speaking to media persons here on Wednesday.
He said he will not jump to conclusions and was going by reports received from legislators and Home Secretary on the incident. He will rush to Shira on Thursday morning and later will demand suitable action from the government over its failure to contain the situation in Shira.
Deve Gowda went off to Hassan in the morning to return in the evening as his supporters trickled in from their native places. The meeting just began around evening before he said it had to be postponed in view of grave situation in Shira.
The meeting was supposed to decide how long the Assembly session was tobe held, a commitment from the Patel camp on the exact date the Janata Dal Legislature Party meeting would be held and also the role the dissidents were to play during the no confidence motion which would be taken up in this session.
